Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy

Optimize your lubrication program to pro-actively avoid early bearing failures

Listen to the bearing, start lubricating and determine when to stop!

The Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy is uniquely designed to allow an operator to simultaneously lubricate and monitor ultrasound levels to prevent over-lubrication.

As lubrication levels fall, friction levels rise, producing ultrasonic waves, which are very directional and localized.

Easily attached to most standard grease guns, or worn in an optional belt holster, the Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy translates high frequency sounds into the audible range, where users will hear and recognize bearing sounds.

The Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy focuses in on these sounds – even in the noisiest environment – and helps users identify when to stop lubricating.

The Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy will support your lubrication program resulting in:

- Prolong the life of your equipment
- Identify bearing issues by listening
- Prevent over lubrication
- Save on working hours & operational costs
- Improve maintenance efficiency

Additional useful features of the Ultraprobe® 201 Grease Caddy:

- Easy to read LED’s provide visual indication of ultrasound amplitude
- Built-in front-end lamp to illuminate dark areas
- Swivel base adjusts to odd angles
- Heavy duty headphones for high noise environments
- Magnetically mounted transducer for ease of operation
- Optional belt holster makes it even easier to carry

This unique instrument will give you control over your lubrication practices!

Bearing Inspection with Ultrasound How Ultrasound Bearing Inspection Works
Bearing Inspection with Ultrasound
How Ultrasound Bearing Inspection Works Mechanical movements produce a wide spectrum of sound. One of the major contributors to excessive stress in machinery is friction. Ultrasound instruments detect friction. By focusing on a narrow band of high frequencies, the Ultraprobe from UE Systems detects subtle changes in amplitude and sound quality produced by operating equipment. It then heterodynes these normally undetectable sounds down into the audible range where they are heard through headphones and observed on a display panel for trending, comparison, and analysis. It has been established that ultrasound monitoring provides early warning of bearing failure. Various stages of bearing failure have been established. An 8 dB gain over baseline indicates pre-failure or lack of lubrication. A 12 dB increase establishes the very beginning of the failure mode. A 16 dB gain indicates advanced failure condition while a 35-50 dB gain warns of catastrophic failure. For those who utilize ultrasound

Avoiding over-lubrication using Ultrasound As many as 60 to 80 percent of all bearing failures are lubrication-related.
Avoiding over-lubrication using Ultrasound
As many as 60 to 80 percent of all bearing failures are lubrication-related. As many as 60 to 80 percent of all bearing failures (catastrophic, functional and premature) are lubrication-related: whether it’s poor lubricant selection, poor application, lubricant contamination or lubricant degradation. In addition to selecting the correct lubricant, use UE Systems’ ultrasound instruments to identify a lack of lubrication and prevent over lubrication conditions. Set a baseline for each bearing, test routinely to note decibel increases. When a bearing reaches an 8 dB gain over baseline with no change in sound quality, it is in need of lubrication. When applying lubricant, stop when the dB level drops to baseline. It is that easy! The UE Systems Grease Caddy is an instrument developed specifically for supporting your lubrication practices. Advantages: - Cost effective instrument for lubrication engineers - Simple to operate - Keeps your hands free to lubricate with the help of mounting bracket or belt holster Key advantages of UE

UE Systems - Remote Access Sensors Inspect enclosed or hard-to-reach bearings with UE Systems’ permanent mounted sensors
UE Systems - Remote Access Sensors
Inspect enclosed or hard-to-reach bearings with UE Systems’ permanent mounted sensors When accessibility is an issue, such as when a motor is contained within a closed cabinet, or a test point is in a hard-to-reach area, the Remote Access Sensor (RAS) is the answer. Mount the RAS on the test point and run a cable to an access area where a RAM (Remote Access Module) can be connected. When the point is to be tested, plug the RAM into your Ultraprobe and take your reading. Installation is very simple and testing is really easy. Just mount the RAS transducer on your test subject, attach a BNC cable, run the cable through an access hole. Now, every time you come by, just plug it into your Ultraprobe 9000, 10.000, 15.000 or 401, record your data and move on. If you have multiple bearings on hard-to-reach areas, you can even make use of UE Systems’ Switch Boxes which will allow to test up to 8 bearings at once! RAS Switch Box When access or safety make it challenging to inspect a test point, the RAS Switchbox is your answer, making remote sensing

UE Systems 4Cast: Bearing Condition Monitoring System Save time, save your bearings and improve plant reliability
UE Systems 4Cast: Bearing Condition Monitoring System
Save time, save your bearings and improve plant reliability Review bearing information from the convenience of your office. - Monitor bearing condition 24/7 and tell 4Cast when to send a report: This unique, system continuously logs bearing data and bearing sounds. At pre-set intervals, all stored data and sound samples are sent to a computer for reporting and analysis. How often do you want 4Cast to sample a bearing? System flexibility allows users to pre-set how often a bearing will be tested: by the minute, hour, day, etc. - Customize your report intervals: Data and sound recording transfer rates are customizable so that while the data are routinely recorded on the 4Cast box, a report containing only the latest information will be sent to Ultratrend DMS (UE Systems data management analysis and reporting program). Reporting frequency can be set by the user (for example, once a week, month or year). - Set your alarm levels: Alarm levels can be set to provide a low alarm and a high alarm. - Analyze how
