Van de Velde pipe inspections & solutions has over 20 years of experience in the field of camera inspection, milling- and renovation techniques, and cleaning. The company continues to invest in the latest technologies and tailor-made solutions to take their customer service to a next level.

One of the examples is their newest development the “No Men Entry Cleaning Robot or NME”. Stijn Van de Velde, managing director at Van de Velde pipe inspections & solutions, explains; “This new and innovative robot allows us to clean tanks, pipes, ducts and sewers in a safe and qualitative manner. Since many years, our industrial partners are requesting party for developing a solid solution concerning the reduction of the risks by entering dangerous confined spaces.”

Mieke Van de Velde, sales and marketing manager at Van de Velde pipe inspections & solutions, adds; “The realization of this project required an intensive coordination between the various international suppliers to combine all the knowhow into a concrete project and to achieve the necessary certificates to meet the strict safety standards of our industrial customers. But, it was all worth it!”

The “No Men Risk Cleaning robot” is a hydraulically controlled robot of stainless steel. He is specially designed for the cleaning and inspection of confined spaces. In order to keep the operators on safe distance from the risk zone, the robot will be placed in the manhole by a ramp or winch. The follow-up will be done from a control unit, where the operator has an overview of the work zone and where he can monitor all the important parameters.

The equipment exists of a wide range of high pressure cleaning heads (200-2500 bar), ATEX-cameras and measurement tools, which is adaptable depending on the situation. Furthermore, it features an optimal suction to remove sediment and through its external connection with a HD vacuum cleaning truck, the aspirated material can be removed.

Mieke Van de Velde: ”Companies in need of industrial cleaning will choose more for robots in the near future. So, people no longer need to be unnecessarily exposed to unsafe working conditions and dangerous (petrochemical) substances.”

The company is very proud to be a driving force in its field. Both types of the ATEX explosion proof “No Men Entry Cleaning robot”, small (from ø 350mm) and large (from ø 500mm), are currently in a testing phase and will be operational very soon.

This new and innovative robot creates a new and higher level of safety, at which the customers at Van de Velde pipe inspections & solutions can rely on. Besides the reduction of the health and safety risks, this new robot will also increase productivity and reduce the period of a shutdown significantly.
