New Emergency Shutdown Discrete Valve Controller Improves Safety
TopWorx DX Partial Stroke Test with HART 7 provides detailed valve assembly data and diagnostics, enabling predictive maintenance and reliable operation. Emerson introduces the TopWorxTM DX PST with HART 7. Units provide valuable valve data and diagnostic information, enabling the digital transformation of process applications. The new DX PST integrates seamlessly with existing valves and control systems, giving operators access to critical valve data, trends, and diagnostics that can be used to predict and schedule maintenance. The DX PST’s partial stroke test ensures the system’s reliable function without shutting down the process. A safety feature that confirms the valve will fully close and stop the process if an emergency is detected, and the test is activated by simply pressing the local PST button — no additional equipment is required. To prevent critical failure in upset conditions, the unit will override testing to perform an emergency shutdown (ESD). Certified for operation in harsh and hazardous applications, the adaptive DX PST is designed to ensure the integrity of valves, improving overall safety and facility uptime in oil and gas, refinery, “The digital transformation of the process industry continues to make operations safer and more productive,” said Prayag Vatsraj, global product manager at Emerson’s Switchbox. “The DX PST with HART 7 supports digital transformation by providing reliable data that delivers valuable insight into the condition of valve assemblies that ensures the integrity of the system without shutting down the process.” The HART protocol, the specifications of which are owned by the FieldComm Group, builds another layer of information that ensures data, trends, and diagnostics are monitored and tied into the Industrial Internet of Things. This information can be used to effectively predict and schedule maintenance. Capable of Safety Integrity Level 3 (SIL 3), the DX PST is available with an integrated 2oo2 or 2oo3 solenoid valve redundancy when paired with ASCO Series Advanced Redundant Control System (ARCS) to further enhance safety and open terminals that allow an additional pressure transmitter along with two pressure switches. The discrete valve controller offers simple local and remote calibration.

New Angle Seat Valves Improve Safety, Reliability and Performance
The expanded ASCO™ Series 290 offers new capabilities and best-in-class flow to optimize processes in more applications Emerson has expanded its range of angle seat valves with the new ASCO™ Series 290D, available now in Europe and globally by late 2022. After 25 years of proven use in the field, Emerson identified key opportunities to optimize this series for new and existing markets. The robust, modular design of the expanded 290 Series comes with a new array of valve bodies and actuator materials, fittings, functions, certifications and accessories. Significant features include fugitive emissions certification, switch box with IP69K protection level and safe actuator dismounting. These customizations improve process efficiency and safety while reducing costs in many applications, including industrial, food and beverage and specialty chemical. In the new ASCO Series 290D, a wide range of valve bodies, actuators, options, control box and certifications are provided for enhanced application versatility. Built-in modularity makes it possible to interchange different actuators on the same body for on-site modification of the valve characteristics after assembly. Both IP66 and IP69K enclosures are available for either indoor or outdoor use. The new Series 290D is also suitable for a wide range of media, including aggressive fluids, steam, gas, vacuum and superheated water. The 290 Series is designed with a highly reliable fluid control mechanism engineered for exceptionally safe shutdown. With valves accounting for over 51% of fugitive or irregular emissions, the new design helps reduce fugitive emissions and minimizes risks to workers and the environment. While the new ASCO Series 290D actuator requires almost no maintenance, further safety-enhancing features include safe actuator dismounting, which ensures maintenance workers are protected during potentially dangerous actuator dismantling procedure. Featuring the highest flow rate (Kv) in its class and proportional control for accurate regulation, the Series 290 helps improve production efficiency. At the same time, a long operating life extends the intervals between maintenance, while the inherently rugged design is built to withstand the demands of challenging operating environments and aggressive media. Backed by the global team of engineers at Emerson, the new ASCO Series 290D can be used to improve existing processes or can be customized specifically for new applications.

Design. Preview. Print. All from your phone with the brand new M211 Label Printer. Brady Corporation's new M211 Label Printer is a lightweight, sturdy and wearable device that prints both pre-sized and continuous labels to identify cables and components. It can create even complex labels that can all be designed, printed and previewed from your phone. • Label with your phone The new M211 Label Printer can easily be clipped to any belt. It connects seamlessly to smartphones via Bluetooth and is driven by Brady's Express Labels App. The app allows to quickly design, preview and print labels and to integrate data from spreadsheets. No other phone driven label printer today matches the label design possibilities of the M211. In addition, designs can be saved and shared between colleagues, either in the field or at the office. • Tested, quality labels Quite unique for an entry-level portable label printer, is the M211's ability to print on both continuous and pre-sized labels. Brady offers M211 users 90+ different label cartridges to choose from. These include general purpose and dedicated labels, designed for reliability in specific applications. Brady has technical data sheets with label test results that evaluate adhesion to various types of flat and curved surfaces, and label print resistance to humidity, abrasion, heat, cold, weathering and other influences. • Resilient and easy to use The new M211 Label Printer prints up to 300 labels on a single battery charge. Yet the system weighs only 0.5 kg, and has a compact design to make it extremely wearable. At the same time, the M211 is a tough device. Tests indicate the tiny printer survives 1.8m falls, 110 kg crushes and military specification shocks. Next to its ability to survive almost any job site, the M211 features 'drop-lock-print' label cartridges designed for swift 'on-the-job' consumable switching.
