Senior mechanical engineer

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you have a key role in providing advanced technical solutions in the fields of photonics, medtech and high-tech industry. In multidisciplinary projects with fiber coupling machines, CMOS cameras, chip-to-chip alignment and tooling projects for our customers, you and your mechanical team are responsible for achieving the milestones within time and quality. You define the work packages, deliver technical concepts/solutions and guide the members of the project team to achieve results while improving their knowledge and skills. You work closely with customers and suppliers. Depending on the project, your work at our office will alternate to a lesser extent with work on location at the client.

Main Responsibilities:

Responsible for the implementation of the project for the relevant discipline as well as the assessment of technical progress and quality;
You organize and plan your own project;
Divides work between engineers and other disciplines involved;
Ensure that your project is delivered on time, quality and budget;
Test modules including integration throughout the machine;
Escalates when help is needed and agreements cannot be realized, ensures follow-up;
Contributes to improving the Etteplan WoW;
Drawing up preliminary studies, feasibility studies and drawing up technical specifications;
Drawing up many complex designs and develop them into final designs and drawings;
Ensuring manufacturability, mountability, service friendliness, quality and reliability of a product/machine design;
Supervision prototype manufacturing and taking care of test work;
Elaboration of calculations and schedules;
Internal and external product- of machine introduction and release;
Knowledge of mechanical construction;
Knowledge of 3D-CAD in one of the solid works packages, Inventor of unigraphy;
Knowledge of FEM analyses is a pré.
Education:

Engineering Bachelor’s degree and above, mechanical Engineering and 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
In a proactive way, you are able to translate the customer’s need into concrete solutions and services.
You are analytically strong, initiative-oriented, you can separate main and secondary issues well and you are solution-oriented.
You are enthusiastic and open to new ideas.
You are a full-fledged discussion partner for our customers.
You have strong communication skills In Dutch and English.
