On 21 September, Sytse van der Bij, director/owner of Pirtek Utrecht, received from the hands of Arjan Coppens, chairman of trade association FEDA, one of the first quality certificates issued in the Netherlands.
The fact that Pirtek qualified for this is due to the excellent way in which the centre has its operations and safety aspects in order. Certification as an Approved Hose Assembly Company underlines that Pirtek Utrecht maintains the highest standards in hydraulic hose assembly.
These standards cover all processes that ultimately lead to safe hose assembly: from initial goods receipt and inspection to final testing, and from safety training and implementation of protocols to correct use of machinery and tools.
This certificate differs from others because until now, individual employees were certified for safe working. Now the company is certified as a whole. For customers, this is a big plus. Buying hose assemblies through a service point with this FEDA certificate is an independently declared guarantee of sound and safe products.
Peter de Ru, operations director of Pirtek Benelux: “To obtain this certificate, we carefully reviewed our existing assembly procedures and working methods. In doing so, we naturally included feedback from the Feda’s experienced auditors. As a result, we added a number of things, such as batch registration in connection with the full traceability of our hydraulic hoses and couplings and sleeves, and stating the working pressure on the work order.”
