Emerson announces the launch of a new ASCO Numatics low power proportional valve. The valve has been designed for the accurate pressure control of air and neutral gasses in applications where power is limited. The Sentronic LP consumes less than 4 Watts and is available with a nominal diameter of DN4 and G1/4 connections. The valve has a flow rate up to 470 Nl/min and three pressure ranges that span 0-10 bar. It can be used singly or connected to a manifold for a compact solution where multiple valves are required.

Similar to the other valves in the Sentronic range, the Sentronic LP offers high performance. With a hysteresis of less than 1 percent and excellent linearity and repeatability the valves are ideally suited for applications in the food and beverage, packaging, bottling and automotive industries. The product can be manually set and adjusted using push buttons and a graphical display, or by using the free to download Data Acquisition Software (DAS). DAS enables the user to set control parameters that can be password protected.

The Sentronic LP offers a modular and compact footprint, and is very easy to set up, making it a logical alternative to more complex proportional control valves currently on the market. Communications and control is via a 5-pin M12 connector. The manifold version enables up to 10 valves to be mounted together on a compact manifold that has a common air supply. The valve always delivers a stable pressure even when the flow demand is variable. To ensure the safety of the process the valve will hold the downstream pressure when power is lost.
