The Dow Chemical Company is one of the largest international chemical companies. Dow products are used in a wide range of consumer and industrial goods. Dow Terneuzen has become the second largest Dow production site worldwide. The employees at the Dow Chemical site in Terneuzen communicated with each other using an analogue radio system. Because this radio system was nearing the end of its product lifespan, Dow Chemical started looking for a new network.

In the new situation, we chose the Dimetra IP Compact network, which is built around two MTS4 and MTS1 TETRA base stations with 800 MTP850Ex ATEX portable radios with microphone accessories and 60 MTM5400 TETRA mobile radios.

Kees Deurloo, Project Manager Dow Chemical: “Our highest priority is to protect our employees, and the reliable TETRA network coupled with the ATEX radios that can be carried anywhere on the site ensure that our people are equipped to carry out their duties in the most stable, efficient and safest way.”
